MY TESTIMONY

What led me to the Trus Church? Two things...first off I had the feeling we, as converts all have...something was missing.

The other...I found myself on a trip nobody wants to take, the trip downward. I was heading for that certain sort of breakdown that most of us resist, the breakdown of my stubborn self-sufficiency.

Finally I experienced the odd relief of hitting rock bottom, where I made an unexpected discovery: The rock on which I had been thrown was none other than christ Himself. Cast on Him alone, I was in a position to rebuild the rest of my life, this time as a God-dependent person rather than the self-dependent person I had been. My rock-bottom experience became a turning point and one of the most vital spiritual developments of my life.

Most people feel anything but spiritual when they hit bottom. But our Heavenly Father is well-pleased with what He intends to bring out of such a painful process. A person who knows the secret of the God-dependent life can say Psalms:119:71 with firm meaning, "It is good for me that I have been afflicted, that I may learn Your Statues". I know without a doubt, that the Book of Mormon is true, Joseph Smith is our prophet and Thomas S. Monson is our prophet on earth today. This I testify in the Name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Hi again -

I don't want to monopolize your page here, but if you are curious, I have an article posted on another site on the subject of learning Spanish (written by myself). If you are curious, it is here:

Music in Spanish can help a lot too... good both for hearing native pronunciation and especially for training the ear to hear where one word ends and the next one begins. You can google the lyrics of the songs and read along as they sing, and they have some really great music. Check out these, for instance:

...ok... enough for now

Hello Sister BookofMormonReader -

Do you think we of our generation are likely to live to see the

coming forth of the remaining 2/3 of the book that was sealed

(in order to test us first with the first 1/3 to see if we would be

diligent in learning and living its priciples)? Is there any chance

that you might get a bit excited about getting a look at that? Just

a flight of fancy, I guess, but I would love to get my hands on a

copy (though I confess that I could definitely do better with what

we have... though I have read the Book of Mormon a number of

times, and even in another language, besides the times I have

read it in my native English  -   still I could do more, and with more

regularity).

Well, keep up the good work... your encouragement for us to con-

tinue studying and pondering the teachings of the Book of Mormon

is a positive influence on those around you -

Happy New Year!!!
