While working the midnight shift 20 years ago in Alaska I decided to make friends with a woman everyone shunned due to her personal religious beliefs. It’s always been in my nature to treat everyone the way I would want to be treated. As I became friends with my co-worker she shared her testimony with me and introduced me to the missionaries. I was baptized with in two months from meeting her. I went on to serve a mission, get married, divorced and start my own business. Through prayer I moved from Alaska to Michigan and opened a small business. Although life gets tough at times I never loose my faith in Christ, knowing that going through “test” is to build character. I love the Temple and my calling as Stake Single Adult Rep for the Grand Rapids Michigan Stake.
Although I have never had my own children I adore them and still have hope. Smiling and laughing is so very important to me! I like being happy. No matter what you’re going through, you can find answers in the scriptures, prayer and talking to your priesthood leaders. Shake off the ill feelings and let the hope, love, charity, and trust that your Heavenly Father has in you shine in your countenance.
