That fish was from the day after Thanksgiving in 2008.  I and my two older kids caught > 12 fish over 17 inches in just about an hour of fishing (bait). 


I started tying flies when I was 7 actually.  Couldn't make anything that would catch a fish until about 9.  It's actually been a few years since I have tied, but still have all the stuff.  Advice?  Get a second job to pay for the plethora of supplies.    Just take it slow when learning, get a good manual with both patterns and instructions.  It also helps to watch it on a video or two, or hand around the fly shop and watch how others do it.  And, have fun!
