Bah, Humbug! A poor excuse for picking a man's pockets every twenty-fifth of December!

I'm a 44-year-old British university lecturer (roughly equivalent to an assistant professor in the US) in computer science, though my first degree was in engineering, my PhD in semiconductor reliability and I'm also a Chartered Physicist. I'm married to a wonderful lady from Maine USA, and we have two daughters. My family is such an unbelievable blessing that despite my largely protestant/liberal thinking I sometimes find myself fantasizing about the Mormon teaching on marriage being true. Not that I can see myself ever really believing in Temple marriage: For me it's more like what Krister Stendahl (a Swedish theologian and Lutheran bishop) once described as "holy envy".
