I'm a native English speaker, and I've been studying Spanish off and on for about 3 and a half years. I can read and listen to it pretty well, but I'm still struggling with the speaking part.

I enjoy sci-fi, historical, religious, suspense-thriller and how-to books. (You'd be amazed at how many "For Dummies" books I own!)

One of my favorite authors since I was a teenager has been R.A. Salvatore. Other favorites are Anne McCaffrey and H. Turtledove.

I enjoy a wide variety of music. Listing what I DO NOT like will be a far shorter list. I CANNOT STAND: Rap, Hip-Hop, Death Metal (I like some heavy metal, tho) and most Country-Western.

An INCOMPLETE list of my favorite groups/artists:
Juno Reactor, Pink, Bowling For Soup, Weird Al, Aaron Copeland, Nickelback, Queen, Hoobastank, 3 Doors Down, Matchbox 20, Annie Lennox, Barenaked Ladies, The Beatles, Billy Joel and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

I enjoy most comedies (there's a fine line between "stupid" and flat out "banal"), sci-fi films and documentaries. I haven't had much time to watch any movies since going back to school.

Reading, hiking, biking, listening to music, Online games (World of Warcraft is my current game), drawing, painting, writing poetry. I don't really enjoy TV anymore, I can't stand to sit still much past 1 hour at a time.

I am a 2nd generation member of the LDS church, however, my family and I have been inactive the majority of my life. I've only recently decided to learn what being a faithful member entails.

I am also a Nursing student and I've lived in Montana my whole life. I don't see what the fuss is about big cities, I really don't enjoy them. I just see huge crowds of people (which scares shy lil' ol' me) and smell poor air quality which my asthmatic lungs don't like dealing with.

Please don't be offended if I seem stand offish or aloof. In reality, I'm painfully shy.

I'm slow to warm up. When I start to get comfortable, I start to get worried. I'm also very opinionated and have something of a twisted sense of humor. This has put off people frequently in the past, so I tend to keep with the habit of keeping my mouth shut until my opinions get the better of me. ^_^ I confess that I frequently find myself pining for the day that I meet someone special, but I'm pretty sure my physical appearance and my being a tomboy since I was old enough to walk would turn him off. Until I find that certain guy who isn't afraid of me, I've been concentrating on trying to make the area around me a better place in whatever way I can. This explains why I decided to go into nursing in the first place. :)

I find it hard to believe that you and I are the only two "Weird Al" Yankovic fans on this site!
