I'm a native English speaker, and I've been studying Spanish off and on for about 3 and a half years. I can read and listen to it pretty well, but I'm still struggling with the speaking part.

I enjoy sci-fi, historical, religious, suspense-thriller and how-to books. (You'd be amazed at how many "For Dummies" books I own!)

One of my favorite authors since I was a teenager has been R.A. Salvatore. Other favorites are Anne McCaffrey and H. Turtledove.

I enjoy a wide variety of music. Listing what I DO NOT like will be a far shorter list. I CANNOT STAND: Rap, Hip-Hop, Death Metal (I like some heavy metal, tho) and most Country-Western.

An INCOMPLETE list of my favorite groups/artists:
Juno Reactor, Pink, Bowling For Soup, Weird Al, Aaron Copeland, Nickelback, Queen, Hoobastank, 3 Doors Down, Matchbox 20, Annie Lennox, Barenaked Ladies, The Beatles, Billy Joel and The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus.

I enjoy comedies, but it's getting harder and harder to find a comedy to see that doesn't offend my senses as time goes on. I also like sci-fi and the occasional explosion fest that is usually filed in the "action/adventure" catagory. I haven't really had much time to watch an entire film since I've gone back to college, studies come first, ya know.

Reading, hiking, biking, listening to music, Online games (I like World of Warcraft and EverQuest, but haven't had time to play them since school's gotten back in session), drawing, painting, writing poetry. I don't really enjoy TV anymore, I can't stand to sit still much past 1 hour at a time.

I am:
Very opinionated. Shy. Strange. Someone who enjoys laughing when I get the chance. Incapable of sitting around and doing nothing when I see someone suffering or feeling bad.

The shy and opinionated parts of myself have caused me nearly no end of frustration and grief. I'm just trying to make it through one day at a time and leaving it at that for now. I'm in nursing school and I don't really have much time to myself outside of the weekends.

Thanks for the visit! How is nursing school going? Do they take summer breaks

We are in our "busy" season--canning, freezing, preserving, and pickling. The past week has been Jam and Jelly week. Blueberries are in and so are raspberries-MMMMMMmmmmm.

We are off to look over a potential horse today--she is a Belgian mare--16-3 hands tall! :O)

Have a great day!

Hugs-

Karen

Yep, I'm on my summer break right now! I start up again in the beginning of September. So I'm just resting, getting this new laptop ready to use and gearing myself back up for school.

Hey... where in Montana are you?  I'm from Montana too!  Good for you going to nursing school!  And making the space around you a better place!  Great attitude, I need to adopt it myself!  You go girl!

I find it hard to believe that you and I are the only two "Weird Al" Yankovic fans on this site!

I love that, "Shoot for the moon! Even if you miss, you'll still wind up among the stars!"
