Happily Married. My husband has terminal pancreatic cancer. We are both Christians/Catholic but have had an interest in learning more of the LDS Christian Faith. Several of our friends are members of the LDS Faith Community.
We consider LDS members as Christians as we consider ourselves as Christians.
So-I/We are here to learn and grow and meet others.
There is an LDS Temple here in Albuquerque.
We were most impressed with the late President/Prophet Gorden Hinkley and his message to all -especially his B-Attitudes address.
I am spending much time taking care of my beloved husband-who is doing remarkably well considering his diagnosis. He is 59.
We regularly listen to BYU TV and are contributers to BYU-even though BYU is in the Mountain West Conference and are opponents of our Local Lobos-The University of New Mexico!

HI Carol!

Just wanted to say hi... I read your profile after reading one of your posts... and loved the "feel" of your profile.  You appear to be a genuine, kind hearted and warm person.  Plus you're from Albuquerque... which shouldn't mean anything at all, LOL, but it does!  I'm a Santa Fe girl and I am missing New Mexico!  My best friend is in Albuquerque and I am wishing I could move back there.

I live in Seattle right now... I'm a married mother of 8 kids... all adult... and 10 grandkids.  Right now they are the reason I am in Seattle.  I want to move back to a sunny area, but haven't been able to tear myself away from all those grandbabies!

I'm sending you a friend request... my first I have sent out!  I suspect you would be a great friend! So I hope you approve of the idea! LOL.

Hi, is there a name you prefer to be addressed by?  AB or Abq?  My name is Yolanda and I am from the Canterbury, England Stake of the church. I was wondering, have you attended any lds meetings?  Relief Society is a great place for women to uplift each other.  I think you will enjoy it very much if you haven't already attended. Any visitors are very welcome.  You would find comfort there. I hope that you have already felt the love of the lds folk, and our great love of Jesus Christ.

I look forward to chatting with you sometime.  xxx

A big hug for you (((((hug))))),   You are obviously a very humble daughter of Heavenly Father.  Thankyou so much for taking the time to study your friends faith as latterday saints, there aren't many people that would do that.

Your husband looks very handsome.  You have a difficult road ahead, but I know there are unseen angels holding you both up.  You are not alone, God is with you.  There are many tests upon this earth, and I am so re-assured that this life isnt the end of everything, its just the exam room, and afterwards we can go off and enjoy ourselves and we will be re-united with all those loved ones that have finished the exam before us or been permitted to leave early.

I had a friend recently tell me of their catholic faith, and she said that she was amazed of the concept of personal prayer.... she thought she was insignificant to heavenly father and just one of billions. In case that applies to you, I would like to say that each of your prayers are heard, and you are known by name in heaven.

God bless you and your family.  Please don't hesitate to ask your friends if they might arrange for your husband to have a priesthood blessing.  It can be of immense comfort and strength.  My nan (who was was not a member of my church), lay in hospital in agony and I asked her if she would like a blessing and she said yes.  She had been on morphine for days yet had no sleep.  The elders lay their hands on her head and annointed her with consecrated oil and spoke words of comfort to her by the Holy Ghost. I received a letter from her telling me that that night her pain went and she slept.

I don't know you, but I can feel that you are a sweet lady with much love for the Lord.   I hope you can feel comfort amongst us and able to approach your lds friends and the church for help and support in any of your needs.  xxxx
