John Adams was the key factor in the Colonial Declaration of Independence from Britain. He worked, debated, and fought to ensure that the American Colonies could for once become completely free. In class last Wednesday, we watched a segment of HBO's John Adams. The producers, true to style, went all above and beyond recreating the atmosphere of America when it existed only as a state of mind. (For those of you who prefer this film layout and style, I highly recommend A&E's  6-peice production of Horatio Hornblower. Seriously, it is so good.) Above all, they sought to portray the founding fathers as men, rather than gods.
