This weekend I got to attend a broadcast of the dedication of the Draper, UT temple. It was neat to hear insightful talks concerning the ceremony, and to hear the prophet and president of the church give the dedicatory prayer. I'm so grateful that in the church we have the authority and ability to perform these sacred ceremonies that increase our ability to become closer to God.

Yesterday the Prophet of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints passed away.  LDS people believe that the prophet of the church recieves modern day revelation for the church just as Peter did for the Church of Jesus Christ after Jesus was crucified.
