When I was taking lessons with the missionaries before I joined the Church one of the things we went over was Tithing. I did not then nor do have a problem with tithing. Joseph Smith's quote about how a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things cannot produce the faith require for salvation has taken on a more significant meaning to me. I have been listening to "The Life and Teachings of Joseph Smith" on CD while I commute (I drive about 2 hours per day) and I have learned some very interesting and wonderful things about the first prophet of this dispensation. Today, I listened to the lecture on the Law of consecration and it revealed to me how giving, how generous, and how loving the Prophet Joseph Smith was.
