The Gathering
Posted On 10/18/2009 16:00:29 by noblegas8

In Doctrine and Covenants 37 the Lord first commanded his people to move, what we now refer to as “The Gathering”. When I think of the effect that the gathering had on me, the first thought that comes to my mind is my ancestor James Stephen Brown. He had become acquainted with the saints in Ohio, moved with them to Missouri and Nauvoo (without having become a member), then joined the church and crossed the plains. Trail of Hope

This was taken from the film Trail of Hope .

"AND THEY CUT DESIRE INTO SHORT LENGTHS AND FED IT TO THE HUNGRY FIRES OF COURAGE...

Pioneer Trek
Posted On 07/21/2008 15:33:21 by SimplifyHeartAndHome

My 14 yr. old daughter is going on a Pioneer Trek tomorrow with several hundred youth and leaders from the church.  They will take 3 days to trace a 20-mile segment of the journey that the early Mormon Pioneers trod.

It has been counselled that each youth bring a back pack weighing less than 17 lbs.  They are to carry a change of clothing along with a few other necessary items like bug spray and sunscreen (won't quite be like the early pioneers).  Each youth is to... Read More
