I Am

Last year the group of poets I was working with began writing "I am" poems, I wrote one and then left it at that. And yet here I am again, finding myself writing another. What I like about these types of Poems is that they do a great job of describing just who you are, and yet because they are a poem they don't tell it all, they just give a glimpse. So in light of that here is what I have written today. It could probably use more work, but here it is anyway.

He'll Always Be There

In times of despair,
I’ve felt of His care.
When things go all wrong,
His shoulder I’ll lean on.
When I’m feeling down,
His love will surround.
If I start to cry,
He’ll always be by.
If I am in fear,
He’ll always be near.
When things fall apart,
I’ll reach for His heart,
AND NEVER LET GO-HE’LL ALWAYS BE THERE
