Tithing

In these tough economic times, it can be difficult to pay a full tithe. Believe me; I would know. I have changed jobs a few times within the past year for financial reasons and I don't like to brag about that. I would much rather stay at a job for a long time, but I don't regret the decisions I have made.

Conference and Salvation

Last week I had the pleasure of being at one of my Seminary student’s Young Women's medallion ceremony. At the celebration she had asked her Mia Maid advisor to speak. This sister said something that I had thought about, but never in the way she had put it.

Blessings of Tithing

I have been a member of the church for almost 18-years and I have struggled for all those years to pay my tithing...being a single Mum I had a hard time paying Tithing without guilt because I knew if I paid my Tithing I would not be able to purchase food, pay bills, etc. Last year when the Bishop came to me about teaching seminary he asked me why I still had not been to the temple. He asked me what was keeping me from going and I said, "I cannot afford to pay my tithing."... Read More

Key Verses: 2 Corinthians 9:6-7

Tithing in the New Year

When I was taking lessons with the missionaries before I joined the Church one of the things we went over was Tithing.  I did not then nor do have a problem with tithing.  From what I have heard, some investigators do not join the Church because they don’t want to give up tea and alcohol.  Some do not want to tithe their money.
