lasting friendship
Posted On 12/11/2008 13:09:35 by reese
I was recently looking through pictures of my old friends from high school and reminisced about good times we have had.  While I look back on those times fondly, many of those friendships have grown distant over the years and I feel no strong desire to rekindle them.  Then I look at the friendships that have lasted, what makes the difference?  My first thought was that having the same standards was the key.  But then I realized that, more important than this is having respect... Looking Beyond The Mark
Posted On 11/18/2008 17:39:48 by NTBat
With the solid commitments the restored Gospel is requiring from all of us Latter Day Saints, it is not that surprising to see some of us will be caught  looking beyond the mark  (Jacob 4:14)   Though there are several meaning we can derive from it, looking beyond the mark, can also imply finding or subscribing to other 'easier' ways outside the perimeters set by the restored gospel of Jesus Christ – in the hope that we will find the same quality of happines... Nevertheless, I am getting back into my passions and that is writing, co... Read More

I have never had such a hard time deciding who to vote for.  I prayed about it and got my answer and voted the way I felt I should.  My husband found out and has been calling me names.  I can't say I was overly joyed about either decision and I have felt somber during this time. Sometime ago, I kept getting this nagging feeling that I needed to get my affairs in order with in the next 4 years. I am not sure what that means but I starte... Read More

The Value Of A Smile
Posted On 11/06/2008 09:15:58 by galenbeesley
Well one more experience here in Afghanistan where just being or well trying to be a good member of the church gets noticed. I was waiting for the chow hall to open up for dinner and a soldier I have worked with before comes in. As usual I'm my nice usual self trying to smile and laugh despite being here away from my family and friends. This soldier approached me and wanted to know how I could smile and laugh when I'm over here in the middle of a war zone and away from my wife and children. I to... Read More
