Moving Along
Posted On 11/20/2008 09:25:54 by book_worm
There is a song in the Primary hymns book, "I am like a star shining brightly, shining for the whole world to see, I can do and say, happy things each day, for I know Heavenly Father loves me." What does it mean to be a shining star? I thought it meant to be someone that everyone looked at, to have all the world facing you, and that is what it means but just because people know that you are different does not mean that they will except you. I have a friend who was a member of the church and she... Read More

He'll Always Be There
Posted On 11/15/2008 01:00:34 by Lbybug

In times of despair,
I’ve felt of His care.
When things go all wrong,
His shoulder I’ll lean on.
When I’m feeling down,
His love will surround.
If I start to cry,
He’ll always be by.
If I am in fear,
He’ll always be near.
When things fall apart,
I’ll reach for His heart,
AND NEVER LET GO-HE’LL ALWAYS BE THERE

It involves several concepts, such as tailoring to the audience, considering cultural differences, and communication used for persuasion. A great deal of communication between individuals is done in a manner of persuading the other to think or act (or stop from thinking or acting) in certain ways. May I also include persuasion towards belief.    Although there may be many specific methods of persuasion, they can be gro... Read More

My Conversion
Posted On 10/06/2008 01:18:37 by YoungMormonRoyalist
I'll admit that I'm very hesitant to share this experience with people. As often enough such experiences can be ridiculed, and torn apart. The Lord counciled us "Do not throw your pearls before swine." I feel however that I can share this story with you, as you are all either worthy members, or open minded individuals who do not mock the spiritual experiences of others. This story is so personal, such a changing and private experience that I hold it in the same regard as my Patriarchal Bles... Read More
