I direct your thoughts to that favorite scripture at Luke 2:52. "And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man." This is a simple scripture, and we may say 'Of course!' But it is an effective checklist too. Have I become wise because of my childhood? Have I reached an abundant physical potential? Have I learned to communicate with God and serve him? Have I learned in my childhood to serve man and to communicate and work with and understand my fellow beings... Read More
This is a quote from a book titled Changes That Heal, written by Dr. Henry Cloud. "The Bible says that we were created 'in the image of God' . . . I also presented for your realization that, by accepting the Atonement of Jesus through faith and covenants, we can live today as eternal life even though we are also in the midst of coming up against or passing through a variety of adversity. Let us now explore the gos... Read More
So according to the Proclamation on the Family and what we've been discussing in class, the job description of a husband and father can be generally summed up in three 'P' words: preside, provide, and protect. They are to preside over the family as the priesthood holder in the home as an equal partner to their wife. They are to provide for their wife and children's physical and spiritual needs. And they are to protect their family against any harm. These seem like very important and helpful thin... Read More
