Temple Ordinances or Jesus for Salvation?
Posted On 05/03/2008 13:36:09 by ama49
In Hebrews chapter 10 Paul discusses how through Jesus' death there isn't a need for temple ordinances anymore.  I wrote a post on my website about if it is temple ordinances or Jesus that gives us salvation.  I'd love to hear your thoughts: www.graceforgrace.com... Read More

Tragic events
Posted On 03/17/2008 01:34:27 by wsvirtue
There has been yet another tragic event in my branch here in Parsons Kansas. The two year old granddaughter of a couple in our branch drowned in a pond near their house. I have not known them long since they just recently moved here, but I know they are good people. I was asked today by the Branch President to speak on the plan of salvation at her funeral tommarrow. I am both humble and honored to have been asked to speak. There will be many nonmembers there, and her Father is an inactive memb... Read More

Question: What was Satan up to in heaven?
Posted On 01/29/2008 18:06:15 by RustyCurtis
QUESTION:
What did Lucifer mean by saying to God, "I will be your son," when asking God to use him to be savior of mankind? Why didn’t he just say, "here am I, your son" or did I just misinterpret the verse?

RESPONSE:

First, let’s talk about what Lu... Read More

This post is the second part of a correspondence. The first part is under the post, “What is the difference between conversion and salvation?”

Question:
If the only heaven worth striving for is the one where we enjoy full fellowship with the Father, then what does it really take to live the kind of life where we can have the expectation of going there?

Response:
I think the key here is an understanding of what our whole purpose is for our existence. Why is it that God cre... Read More

What is the difference between conversion and salvation?
Posted On 01/23/2008 12:50:28 by RustyCurtis
I've started a correspondence with one of my new friends at lds.net. He is a prison chaplain (a great one probably) in the Northwest. This posting, and the one entitled “How does one attain Salvation?” are responses to some of his questions. Yes, he gave me permission to post them; he actually encouraged it.

Question:
What does it mean to be converted vs. achieving salvation? You are likely aware that evangelicals focus on conversion, whereas LDS tend to see salvation as having end... Read More
