Are we not all beggars?
Posted On 05/14/2008 17:40:24 by KeithLBrown
A few days ago I received this interesting story in my email.   The Unemployed Graduate

An unemployed graduate woke up one morning and checked his pocket. All he had left was $10. He decided to use it to buy food and then wait for death as he was too proud to go begging. He was frustrated as he could find no job, and nobody was ready to help him.
He bought food and as he sat down to eat, an old man and two little children came along and asked him to help them... Read More

David Archuleta's Mission
Posted On 05/13/2008 21:48:05 by KeithLBrown
I have been following David Archuleta through various video clips on the net as he makes his way through the competition on American Idol and I have to say that he is definitely a very gifted and talented young man. The Lord has certainly blessed him with the ability to take command of a stage and win an audience with the amazing voice that He has blessed him with. Seasons of Poverty, Seasons of Abundance

Have you felt like this:  "I have so little in my life, how can I move forward?  I have no money, no figure, no time, no friends, no good family relationships, no confidence, no spirituality.  How can I do anything?" As I have provided advice in my blogs (take it or leave it, of course), it has been about the use of time (mortal/daily).  I then spotlighted a particular season of life -- our infancy -- and we examined it to see what kind of wisdom we could take away from it as far as time use choices in our present lives.  One thing that I brought forward is that in the present we need to spend time to honor, heal and/or build on the previous seasons of our lives. I want to note that all human being... Read More

Service vs Self-gain
Posted On 04/03/2008 01:38:31 by Vanessa2
I met a nice lady at church who I had seen a couple times, but not had the opportunity to meet. Both she and her husband are returned missionaries, but her husband has since become apostate and, according to her, "anti-Mormon." They have 2 young children. Anyway, at our ward potluck, I had the opportunity to 'rescue' her sunbeam aged son from running up the stairs and out the door. I ended up doing this 1 other time before we both left. She was very appreciative and asked if I was available... Read More
