The Exodus story is one of the most iconic journeys in recorded history. The Children of Israel were in bondage in Egypt under Pharaoh. They were then led by Moses through the Red Sea to Sinai, where they received the Law of Moses. The early saints of the Church went through a physical Exodus similar to the Old Testament Exodus. The comparison of the two is remarkable. Joseph Smith restored the Gospel and the Church originated in New York. The saints were then commanded by the Lord to leave New York. Over many years the saints had to travel and gather in Ohio, Missouri, and would later venture across the country to the west and settle in Utah. Today I had the opportunity to watch the Oquirrh Mountain temple Dedication, and it was amazing.  The spirit was so strong during the hossanas and singing that it seemed as if the whole room were warm with the spirit!
