Sunshine on a Daisy
Posted On 10/11/2011 21:13:09 by Gargantuan

Everyone needs a little light in their life and my cousins radiate light. This is a remake of the Blog I posted July 27, 2011. This version is formatted better and easier to understand. Blessings, Gar

“Happiness does not depend on what happens outside of you, but on what happens inside of you. It is measured by the spirit with which you meet the problems of life.” —President Harold B. Lee (1899–1973)

Two Sisters as Fine as Sunshine on a Daisy

My cousin, Geneive, has been confined to a wheelchair for several years. She lost control of most of her physical functions, writing ability, and most normal communication skills as a result of a tragic automobile accident in the 1960’s. She is cared for by her devoted sister, Mary, who serves as her primary life-line for living.

My two cousins have a wonderful attitude about life. They never seem to be unhappy. I asked one why they are happy and she replied that there is so much that God has given them. I asked why is your sister always so happy. She has lost everything but always has a smile for anyone. She replied that her sister is grateful for life and exprexxex that gratitude by always saying that she feels as fine as sunshine on a daisy. She went on to describe how one morning she went in to her sister's room and asked how she was feeling.

She was almost awake and barely able to respond, but she smiled with “fine as sunshine on a daisy” . She wasn’t even trying to think of how to respond, but the words of happiness flowed as freely as sparkling water through a clear mountain stream.

The cheerful inner light of happiness that they share is as beautiful as sunshine on a daisy.
