Pulling The Plug -- An Open Letter To The Board

I just sent this letter to a moderator. I didn't want to post it on the main board because it would likely be met with flames and "not-me's" and then devolve from there. But I did want others here to know how I feel about what's happening lately. I am troubled by what has been going on, and I think I should speak up before I abandon ship.

The tone of LDSTALK had taken a decidedly bitter and nasty turn since it has come to light that Ari/LDSSister/Aristotle and Peace/Please/Syble have made their comebacks with new identities but the same old personalities and biases towards others. They have both taken to attacking a certain MrsS, who has done nothing but try to point out that they are the ones causing the bad feelings here. The snide remarks, the rude repartees, the cheap shots at others really bother me, not just because they are happening, but it seems they are happening without any moderator stepping in and telling them to knock it off. They are doing what they can to chase her from these boards, and in the process they may be preventing others who lurk from posting because they don't want to get in their sights. This is an LDS board, and I would expect that it would ask its members to treat others here differently than they do elsewhere.

Maybe this isn't the place I should be right now, maybe my idea of what a website aimed at LDS should be like is different than what the moderating team and the owner's are. I don't know. But I do know that right now I don't like what I am reading from self-proclaimed "good" LDS people who snap at others almost constantly. Are these the kind of people you want taking over your boards? If it is, then I am most likely visiting the wrong place.

Oh, if he could have put all that brillance into working an honest job ~ he would have been a millionaire by the time he was 40!

Ari is a paranoid. She attacks before anyone can attack her. She is so into denial it is laughable. She has a little bit of knowledge and somewhere along the line gained a little bit of a vocabulary. She doesn't listen. That is so obvious. If she would only give. Give the links to the resources where she is garnering her information.

Ignore her stupidity rather than call her on it outright. Praise her when she is correct. And make it a point to only praise the correct parts. When you do call her on her really blatant false doctrine, then give the links to the correct doctrine!

She will still deny it. She is the Queen of denial. But at least the investigators, newly baptized and anti's will have the CORRECT Gospel Doctrine.

No, when I read 90% of her posts, I saw a poor, lonely woman. Look at her posts ~ she spends nearly all of her time on the forum, when she isn't at work at the psychologists office.

Another thing ~ She is a shameful Name Dropper.

Again, thank you so much for your support of me, and your comforting words to me. I am not going to let her chase me off. Lets educate her. Yes, it will take a lot of love wub.gif

You are to be admired but be careful, you will just become another target. You seem too nice to put yourself in harm's way. Someday you will type inthe word "shoehorn" or something else equally inane and you will be slashed to ribbons with the bright sunshiney, sugar-coated scalpel that a certain someone enjoys wielding.There seems to be no way out of it except to stand there and bleed to death or to leave.

John dont let the ignarance of others keep you away from posting, or using this site in any way. Some times wrong wins out, but only for a short time..The right will prevail in the end.....We all should stick to our beliefs what ever they may be. smile.gif Remember try not to judge, for we usually dont know the whole story, and if we judge hard, then we will be judge hard...I appricate you john...

Actually I belive that was Snow who said that.

I protested against letting Ari back on the board. She's a rotten apple. Nothing we can do about that I guess, except protest by leaving and lowering the traffic on the board.

Then Heather can rename it "Ari and Syble's Talk".
