Lose of a Pet
Posted On 03/27/2012 21:54:14 by Gargantuan

Having a pet is a special kind of happiness, and losing a pet can be a very difficult thing to endure. Blessings, Gar --"People are born so that they can learn how to live a good life - like loving everybody all the time and being nice, right?" Some animals already know how to do that, so they don't have to stay as long."

Death of a Loved Pet

My single friend called me tonight to make sure that I was okay.  I could tell from the sound of his voice that his usual upbeat mood was down.  He doesn’t drive a car and takes the bus or walks almost everywhere he travels. I didn’t ask what was wrong, but asked if I could help him out now with anything or give him a ride to anywhere. He tried to sound as if nothing was wrong, but suddenly he told me that his cat was gone or had been killed.

Instantly, I remembered from years gone by the death of some of my pets, and I understood the loneliness he was feeling. It’s a dreadful feeling, for some, to lose a pet and miss the closeness of that animal. I believe that there is a place for animals to go after they leave this world, but I didn’t try to talk with him about seeing his lost pet in the life hereafter, because I am not quite sure how that will work out.

I do believe as the scriptures state in Moses 3:5 http://www.lds.org/scriptures/pgp/moses/3.5?lang=eng

And every plant of the field before it was in the earth, and every herb of the field before it grew. For I, the Lord God, acreated all things, of which I have spoken, bspiritually, before they were cnaturally upon the face of the earth. For I, the Lord God, had not caused it to rain upon the face of the earth. And I, the Lord God, had dcreated all the children of men; and not yet a man to till the eground; for in fheaven gcreated I them; and there was not yet flesh upon the earth, neither in the water, neither in the air;

Loved ones don't necessarily have to be family members, close relatives or good friends.  The company of a pet for some is good because that closeness will keep loneliness from becoming your roommate.  Having a pet that lights up with its special type of enthusiasm adds a little something to life.

Whenever we lose anyone that we love there is always a period of emptiness that will follow.  During these lonely moments, it is good to have another friend who will listen and understand.
