Solomon's Temple - Pomegranate
Posted On 10/08/2012 12:28:34 by kfive77
Temple symbols: I have always been interested in temple symbols, but most of this stuff is too sacred to share. However, I learned some things from a Rabbi's show a while back that I would like to share. When reading about Solomon's temple I found that one of the main symbol's in that temple was the Pomegranate. It was throughout the temple, even the hem of the High Priest's robe had little pomegranates hanging from it. I wondered why we have never had pomegranates in modern temples and what did the represent? I didn't understand why until I was watching a couple of archaeological shows that talked about the symbols. According to a Rabbi, a perfect pomegranate will have 613 seeds, or fruit prods in it. The Mosaic code had 613 commandments, including all of the offerings, feasts, food codes, etc. So..... The pomoegranate symbolizes the Law of Moses and it's commandments. Of course, the Savior fullfilled the Law and it is now longer observed. Cool huh????
