Hi! I'm julie. I joined the LDS church when I was 29. I married an inactive Mormon at 22. I grew up catholic. I always knew there was only 1 true church out there and I wanted to find it so badly but had no clue how to do that. My husband and I never went to church because of our different faiths. We had alot of marriage trouble and were separated for a while. During that time my husbands father got back active in the church at the age of 65, he sent my husband a book of mormon so he started reading it. After 6 months my husband and I tried again to save our marriage, he had been reading the book and I noticed a big change in him but I didn't want anything to do with the church or the book. One night I was sitting on our bed and my husband came back and asked me if I would please just read the introduction to the book of mormon and also Moroni 10 verse's 3-5 (I think) when I read in Moroni a feeling came over me that I had never before experienced in my life, a wonderful feeling, I knew at that moment the book was true. It's hard to explain but it was a feeling you can't deny even if you tried. I immediately asked for the missionaries to teach me the discussions, I was so afraid I would not live to see my baptism because I knew satan didn't want me to find out the truth. I was baptized 2 weeks later in Colorado Springs Academy Ward. One year later my husband and our two children who were 3 and 5 were all sealed in the Frankfurt Germany Temple. My oldest son is now 23 and served a full time mission and my daughter who is 21 has recently married in the St. Louis Temple. We also have a 15 year old son. I love the church, it saved my life and our marriage. I would never go back to that other life, you could say I've been to hell and back and never want to go there again! I know the book of mormon is true because the holy spirit testified to my heart and that's something you can never deny ever!!! Life can be so hard but if you try your best to do what's right heavenly father will bless you in ways you can't even imagine because he loves all of us and wants us all to return to him.
