Eternal Experience
Posted On 02/29/2008 09:16:28 by MaidservantX
[I wrote this in August 1997]

As I am writing this, it is July 3, 1997.  In other words -- Today.  I love that word, that idea.  Today.  God gave me today -- a space I hold in my hands.  It is full of raw energy, divine potential.  It is full of resources a loving Father provides, that I hope to use to build a space, a time, that allows the goodness of God to enter this world.  And meanwhile, build myself!

This time that is marked at the beginning by our birth and at the ending by our death is called MORTALITY or PROBATION.  It is a time when we meet the captivity and corruption of many enemies of the soul that work towards our perishing.  Once activity that a person can do to resist destruction, in a small way, and to accomplish the PURPOSE OF LIFE (which is to prepare to meet God) is to ORDER THE TIME of today -- to act according to priorities.

Priorities that contain the most truth can be chosen only if we understand and perceive the truth.  One truth to begin with is what I call "eternal experience".  We can know that our being had life before entering this earth, and that life and consciousness will extend farther than the death marker.  The nature of our previous life was that of receiving nurture and lessons from an infinitely good Father.  And after successfully meeting the tests of mortality we will complete our maturation into co-governors of the universe with God.

If we believe this, then we can see that the selection and action of priorities -- WHAT YOU DO TODAY -- is critical; and reason to rejoice!  Such a view! -- to construct your life (say your own name!) based on today arising out of the intersection of an abundant, ingelligent past and a profound, sure destiny.
