I wrote this last July. I didn't feel like saying a prayer was quite enough, and I couldn't quite write a poem. So, I got a combo.
------
Heavenly Father,
I love thee
For all that thou hast given me
From my trials to my victories
I thank thee
For sending an angel
When all hope was lost
For being there
When I never asked
And showing me a new life
I thank thee
For loving me
For answering my prayers
And giving me guidance
I thank thee for the revelations
That I have received
That I can know thee
And thy great love for me
And but a part of thy plan
I thank thee
For being there
When I feel so lonely
Comforting me
When all I feel is pain
I thank thee
For giving us thy Son
Who suffered even as I
Enduring all things
And because of Him,
I feel a little less out of place
And a little more reassured
That the darkness will end
I thank thee for this wondrous feeling
And filling my with thy Spirit
Heavenly Father,
It is my humble prayer
That I may continue to receive these gifts
And recognize them when I do
That I may give thee thanks
For I never knew happiness
Before I found thee
Which is a gift
I cannot begin to describe
I would ask thee
That I may be strong in thy ways
Bless me
That I might serve thee
And do good work
To become closer to thee
Heavenly Father,
I am struggling
With the pain I feel
As if I’ve lost a part of my faith
And now I have confusion
About what to hope for
So I submit myself to thee
Guide me
As thou wilt
That this pain may go away
That I may once more feel whole
Heavenly Father,
Help me
To get through my trials
That one day I may embrace thee
Being worthy of thy presence
Let me not falter
Nor give in to temptation
Heavenly Father,
Bless those that I love
And help me to love all
That they may be blessed
And help me to let others
To know that I love them
And give to them
All that which thou hast given me
For I wish for thy gifts to be shared
That other may have happiness
Like unto mine own
Heavenly Father,
I come to thee in grief
But with all sincerity
And hope
Knowing that thou will hear me
Because thou lovest me
Beyond all comprehension
And for this I thank thee
And for being able to pray,
I thank thee
In the name of thy beloved Son.
Amen
