Welcome to Lizard's Lounge
Posted On 03/04/2008 06:03:50 by Lizards

G'Day and welcome to my lounge. You'll find me flat out like a lizard drinking. I was built for comfort, not for speed.

I love the Gospel very much and love church --- pity all the other people have to be there though!

I like to have fun and joke around, but I can be serious too--- watch me...

Don't even think about saying anything against reptiles, coz they are my family of choice and I love them very much.

Did you hear about the floods in Mackay, Queensland? Well, that's where I live and I was very blessed. I only got about four inches of water through my house, but that was enough to ruin some furniture and other items.

And yes, it is true that there were actually crocodiles spotted in the streets swimming around in the flooded waters. But we locals didn't worry too much about them, we had other things on our minds!

Has anyone here ever heard of MELAS syndrome? Coz that's what I'm dying from. But not yet. Heaven doesn't want me yet and hell is still afraid I'll take over...

Come talk to me. I don't bite --- much--- I haven't enough teeth!!!

I ride a Motor Cycle that I have named Mr Whippy, because he whips me from here to there faster than walking Check out my photos and give me some feedback.

No one that I know of in the family with MELAS. Maybe I just spontaneously got it 50% chance of having passed it to my girls...The church is pretty well established here, although some people know of "Mormons" and of "LDS" but don't realise they are one and the same. Australia is very multi-cultural, so there are people from all across the globe in the church here. Here in Mackay, I don't think we have Aboriginals. These days we have to call them "indigenous" unless we want them to sue the shirts of our backs...Darwin, in the Northern Territory have quite a few. I know some in Rockhampton (400kms south) and I had friends who were aboriginal whom I helped convert many years ago. Here in Mackay, we have Tongan, Philipino, Samoan, American, Maltese, Tahitiian, English, New Zealanders (Maori and Kiwi), and even a few Aussies

I'm not sure if you mean me or Australia, as far as reptiles and amphibians goes, but it is probably yes for both! I personally have a Snake-necked Turtle, a Coastal Carpet Python, an Orange-phase Bearded Dragon, an Eastern Bearded Dragon, an Eastern Blue Tongued Skink and a Northern Blue Tongued Skink.  I absolutely love my reptilian family! Just to be a little bit normal, I also have a puppy! Oh, and some Tropical Fish.

I used to live in Mackay (one of the many places I've lived in LOL). The city council actually puts out a map of the places that are likely to flood and the house I lived in was in one of those areas. Nothing like knowing you are living on a flood plane.

Fave things about Mackay: Lunch at Eimeo on a Sunday (what a view!!!!), Cape Hillsborough (best kept secret for a weekend away, complete with roos in the kitchen) and the little Aboriginal rock low tide fish trap and walking in the Hidden Valley there, the beach close to town where the tide comes in with the sound of thunder cracking. Plattys. Did you know that there are tiger quolls in the Eungella rainforest...? Er go TIGERS, my hockey club : ).

Everytime there was a king tide and lots of rain, the place would turn into one giant duckpond.

Amazing how many houses and businesses are built on the flood plains! One of the BIG furniture warehouses was not insured.

I didn't know about the Tiger Quolls, nor the Aboriginal rock low tide thingy. Where is that?

I have lived almost all over Australia! I love being so close to the beaches here in Mackay. I live just opposite the Showgrounds.

So where is "home" now? I like your user name!
