Foolish or wise

Foolish or wise, in The Lords eyes

By Maraleh

What will I see, when I look in his eyes

Will I be foolish, will I be wise

Where will I go when I see him

Will it be joy, or will it be grim

I am a spirit, raised on the path

Will I know love, or will I know wrath

Will I do good, who can yet say

Where will I walk while going my way

The day will yet come when I will see

The door in his eyes to eternity

Will I be ready, will I be strong

To be able to come back to where I belong

What will I see, when I look in his eyes

Will I be foolish or will I be wise

Will I be strong and return back to him

Or will that day be one that is grim

By every choice, I wander in life

Wander in joy, wander in strife

Will I be happy with all that I’ve done

Will I be there when comes back the Son

Will I stand up proud or bow down here in shame

How will I carry his visage and name

Will I be strong, will I be good

Have I done all in life that I should

With mistake or with pride

Will I stand at his side

The price fully paid

For the sins I have made

It is all up to me, when I look in his eyes

To be very foolish, or be very wise

With all that I do, to return back to him

With the joy of forgiveness or the wrath that is grim

With tears in my eyes, when I look in his eyes

To me will he say, I’ve been foolish or wise?

This was written one day when I was pondering the parable of the ten virgins.  The oil that they kept or did not keep made them foolish or wise.  It made me wonder about my own life, and touched my heart with this message.  This once had a melody to it, but I have forgotten it now.  I hope you enjoy it.
