According to you, how would you define living?
Posted On 03/27/2008 22:10:14 by hectorsanz1482
Well latetly I have been asking my relatives and friends, a simple question, at least I think it should be an aesy question to answer. That question is "According to you, how would you define living? What does living mean to you?" To my surprise many of them had no clue or simply had no answer to my question. So, I decided to hope in here to ask you guys, if you could share with me your personal definition of living. Please respond, I cant wait to read how you guys define "living".

My definition of living is taking the time to really live, to laugh, to enjoy, to be at peace with the world.  It is not about having a lot of money or posessions, and it is not about how high on the social ladder you climb, but it is about truly seeing and doing the things and saying the things you know are right.  It is about taking that moment to laugh with your children, it is singing silly songs over the phone when you are away, it is family, friends and hopes and dreams.  It is seeing that moment to fly and taking the chance to rise to it.  It is about giving and helping, serving and allowing others to serve.  It is about laughing and sharing life together that makes it worth living.  Living is about taking what little you have and turing it into something special to bring the family together.  It is about taking the time to try new things, go new places, explore and to really take an honest look at what is around you.  To see each day with new eyes and see the blessings of life all around you.  It is to enjoy the warmth of sunlight, the fury and beauty of the storms, to play, to love, to laugh and to be, and that is life, the adventure of it all.  Never a dull day, never a story not there if you are living to its fullest.  Life is too short to hide in a closet, and too lovely to miss the occasional sunset, sunrise or watch the stars come out.  I hope you will forgive me commenting on so many of these, but I have been enjoying reading these today.  It is a refreshing moment and a joy to find someone well written and heartspoken.

I define living as doing what makes you happy. If being adventurous, travelling, trying new things, etc. makes you happy than I think you are living. If being with family, staying at home to watch a movie, never leaving the area in which you live, etc. makes you happy, then you are living.

More specifically, we need to always be learning, growing, and trying new things in order to really live. Even if it's something small like trying Ethiopian food or learning a new hobby like gardening. I think if we are always growing in some respect, than we are really living.

That's an easy one for me to answer....For me, "Living" is being able to actually experience pure happiness and joy in the world that we live in today.   I owe it all to this Gospel and to my personal Savior, Jesus Christ and my Heavenly Father.
