American Idol David Archuleta and Brooke White - What About Those Mormons?

So, I have been maintaining two ongoing blogs over on HubPages.  One about David Archuleta and the other about Brooke White.  I have also noted in my headlines that they are Mormon....

In other words, when someone searches on either David Archuleta or Brooke White - using also the tag of "Mormon" - I receive traffic on my blogs specifically because the person wanting to know about either Brooke or David - is wanting information associated with their Mormonism.

To the few, that say - "Who Cares"?  What would you say in response to that response?  I have only had  few derogatory comments that I have chosen not to approve.  Other than those few, I have let the comments stand.

I have responded a bit, as well as other posters to those with this feeling of "Who Cares"...

I suppose it does not need to matter, but could it matter if we chose to figure out why?  If we identified the "why" it could matter -- what do you think that would or could be?

Of course, I think it does matter.  But, I am interested to know from those who agree that it should and does matter - the reasons as to why it matters to YOU?

to be honest im not 100% sure as to what your asking but i really wanted to apply to this. i think it matters to me that its known that david and brooke are LDS because its publicity. people know i am lds and then theyre like "OH! that one kid on american idol!" and they ask questions. also, its good for people to see that we ARE normal. brooke is this beautiful girl who has a silly personality and a lot of talent and david is a sweetheart boy with cute style and charm, and extremely humble. who wouldnt want to be friends with them? Also, i think its just good for LDS morale to see 2 of our own suceed and go so far in such a popular competition. for the people who say "who cares," well...it doesnt matter to them and there is NOTHING wrong with that. but for me personally it means a lot to know that i dont have to be held back by negative stigmas about mormons. also for the people who "dont care", theyre probably not LDS, and if they are, theyre probably not very active because they dont feel that strong sense of brothership i feel when i find someone else is a member of the Savoir's only true church. PS you always have REALLY good blods and polls..thanks!
