4th of july
Posted On 07/04/2008 22:43:58 by Sleepy_Jean
I just returned from watching fireworks with my family (consisting of mom, dad and younger brother and sister). I think it made me really grateful for them. I'm very fortunate to have a family who loves and supports me and just wants the best for me. As difficult as things are for me right now, it would be so much worse if I didn't have them to lean on. It helps so much to have people who would do anything to help you. I know they'll always be there for me. They've proven that time and time agai... Read More

My feelings about the church
Posted On 07/04/2008 17:07:17 by Sleepy_Jean
I'm in an odd place with the church right now. Before my second daughter was born, I was very active in the church. But lately I'm not sure what I believe.
During the whole pregnancy with my second child, I was told in blessings that I wouldn't have to have another c-section. I completely believed. Even walking into the hospital, I fully believed that something would happen that would make it so I didn't have to have a c-section. But it didn't. They yelled and swore over the stupidest little thing. And my husband's brother lived there too. He was 28, had no job and was... Read More

I can randomly say, "that was a very Soul thing to say/do" and My whole family will know exactly what I am talking about. I am not sure how it honestly came to be that you meant so much to me, but I do know that you have been an enormous blessing in my life. The things you have told me and the times you have listened to me h... Read More

Commentary: The Call to Serve
Posted On 07/04/2008 14:38:23 by davidleespringer
"Everything that is done in the Church--the leading, the
teaching, the calling, the ordaining, the praying, the singing, the
preparation of the sacrament, the counseling, and everything
else--is done by ordinary members, the 'weak things of the
world.' "We see in the Christian churches their struggle to
fill the need for clergy. We do not have that problem. Once the gospel is
preached and the Church is organized, there is an inexhaustible supply of
faithful brothers and sist... Read More
