God's and Godesses
Posted On 07/15/2008 01:36:41 by sinamarsky

"It is a serious thing to live in a society of possible God's and Godesses to, remember that the dullest most uninteresting person you can talk to may one day be a creature which, if you saw it now, you would be strongly tempted to worship. There are no ordinary people you have never talk to a mere mortal. It is immortals whom we joke with, work with, marry, snob and exploit. Next to the blessed sacrament itself, your neighbor is the holliest object presented to your eyes."

This is one of my favorite quotes by one of my favorite authors.  CS Lewis is the most quoted non-LDS author by our chuch leaders.  I can't help but believe he will be a member of the church someday, or that he already is.  His beliefs were so consistant with the gospel principles we as members of the church know to be true.  He is was not only a great author but as wonderful person as well.  The 1993 movie called Shadowlands which starred Anthony Hopkins and Debra Winger is a wonderful tribute to his live and his humanitarian efforts.
