Still small call
Posted On 07/19/2008 21:59:07 by Aurorasungem

Father blessed the land here that I stand on

Heaven reaches up to help me rise

I listen to the earth that is around me

and I wonder if I truly can be wise

I listen to the laughter of the children

I hear the sceams and torments of each war

I wonder at the actions of these people

and the deeds that shake me to my core

Both good and evil acts are all around us

both unimagined miracles and pain

Sometimes I see this earth and all its people

and wonder what the state they will obtain

God granted us the chance to try our own way

he raised us to see the good and ill

he gave us every chance to turn the pathway

and to choose to do or not his will

He grants us second chances who are ready

he gives us freedom to see where we'll go

he listens to the prayers we raise up to him

and he helps us while we stumble and we grow

Our Father up in heaven never leaves us

He watches us each time we trip and fall

He knows of all the suffring that we pass through

and he gives us that still soft humble call

He loves us enough to try to help us rise up

to overcome temptations and past sin

He knows when we are in the deepest darkness

and know no way to come back and rebegin

he places guides and teachers here to lead us

he helps light the way for those who have the need

he looks to see the progress we are making

and puts what is needed to suceed

the trials here of life they are not easy

the suffering of the hearts he truly hears

he knows and he will bless those who do heed him

and he shares in the joys and in the tears

Faith grows as the heart endures

never give it up, let your faith take wing

you never know what the next day coming

might have in its wings for hope to bring

God grants the second chances in this lifetime

he gives us answer to each prayer that talks to him

He listens to the words and knows the heartache

His light for the lost will never dim.

I know that times are rough but if you hold on

he comes and helps to guide through any storm

for all those who will listen and who heed him

He will comfort, aid and their hearts warm.

Not one lost sheep will stay unsought in his hand

Not one lost soul is not unworth the pain

He suffered for us all in that great garden

and gave his life for second chances gain

what greater love can one in life true see here

what greater hope for second chance is this

that our savior gave the way back for us all here

for all life who he gave a gift like this.

true love cannot be stated in more pure way

than the gift he freely gave unto us all

And all he ever asks is one small question

will you come and heed the still small call

yes all he ever asks is one small question

Come to me, will you heed the still small call.

Aurorasungem,

This poem was so beautiful.  Your insights on the Atonement and the love of both God and Jesus Christ are beautifully set to prose.  I love the encouragement that I could feel as I read it.  Yes, it is a plea to never give up!  Beautiful!
