Why oh why?

It seems to me that everyday there is someone trying to disprove something. For instance, we have people basing religion on FACTS! Since when has this been based on facts? Our faith is gained by believing and trusting. Too many people want to be shown "magic tricks" so they can be convinced of what they have strong doubts about. Why spend so much time looking for things that you should not be looking for? Go with your heart! Pray for answers! They may not come to you like a bolt of lightning but they will come. I have had so many tests of faith in my life. Some I passed and some I failed. I learned from these and that helped me to build a firmer foundation of faith.

Building your faith is like building a house. You don't start with the roof without the walls. You have to start with a firm foundation and build your way up and make sure you reinforce your supports. You add the plumbing and electrical after you have built the walls. Meaning .... you start out concentrating on one project before you start another one. You build it brick by brick or plank by plank. You may hammer your thumb now and then but HEY! in the long run it was worth it right?

build your foundation with scripture study, attending church and really listening to the talks and most of all... PRAYER!!

I commented on your blog. That is a very informational and uplifting blog you have. I hope to be able to do the same here with my blog.

I wish people would stop thinking with their heads and start thinking with their hearts. I have noticed and been a victim of how society can change things that are bad and make them seem ok. I have seen members who were close to me that had awesome testimonys find out something by researching too much and interpreting it the way they wanted to... fall out of the church and actually turn against it. I was told they even meet the members or missionaries outside their home with a shotgun! Pretty far fetched but it could be true.

Also my other point is... What is so bad about us?? We help the needy. We take care of our members. We build humble churches. (Believe me!! We have churches down here with flashing billboards.) I expect them to say "Buy one sermon today get two free" on them LOL!! Our music is humble. We dress (most of us do) in a matter that is not flashy or indecent. We pray and give thanks. We gather together to share each others blessings. We do temple work for those who could not do it so that they may choose to accept the gospel or not.

for example, A young woman's mother dies suddenly and she becomes a convert later in her life. She hears the lessons and reads the scriptures dilligently. She believes and has faith that she will see her mom again someday by being baptised for her. WHAT is so bad about that? Why would a loving Heavenly Father not allow us to do this for our loved ones? Think about it! We pay tithing. We abstain from harmful substances. We do so many good things for those who have no idea who we are and why we do it! We do not announce our good deeds by bragging about them..we do them humbly. We counsel those who need it. WHY? GEE!! Because we love them and want them to be happy, healthy and most of all we want them to "Choose the Right"...

Ok... comments welcome  go ahead and blast me with things that are bad about us...

The Lord teaches us line-upon-line precept-upon-precept.  Sometimes our hearts are touched in small ways which helps to nourish our understanding of and appreciation for Him.

I'm grateful for prayer.  When I'm humble and quiet the answers seem to come more clearly.  Sometimes I'll take my journal and write down the thoughts and impressions that come to me as I'm asking the questions.  When I have specific questions I seem to get specific answers.  What a tremendous blessing that is!  Thanks for your comments.

Today I wrote about Going to the Source for our answers.  One person who commented had had a bad experience with LDS answers.  If you (or anyone else) would like to kindly comment to that person it might be helpful?   http://simplymormon.blogspot.com

Thanks!
