An Apostle visits...........
Posted On 08/25/2008 06:15:13 by simrodiel

I always wondered when I would see one of them face to face...

the assistants to mission president informed me that Elder christofferson was coming..now that was exciting, that was the first time he was coming to my homeward, I had to travel 12 hours to get to see him. my Branch president when he realised I would be coming set up an appointment for me to meet with the mission president,

but everything went wrong 2 weeks before I left for hyderabad where we were to have the conference...

my Manager refused to gie me a leave, he threatened with me with a warning letter and dire stuff if I go. I pleaded and begged but to no avail. I just prayed and decided if god wills it no one can stop me...

fortunately my leave was sanctioned.

I had to borrow money to go....

and then I fell sick... bed ridden for 3 days and I was in terrrible pain.

I decided to go any way, but I missed the bus. I booked another ticket. I remember sitting on the road waiting for two hours for the bus which was delayed, in pain because I was sick.

and finally it arrived , but a trip of 8 hours took over 20 hours because of an earthquake that hit us on the way and many other reasons......

I finally found myself in the church on saturday afternoon, finished my meeting withmission president and decided to wait till 6 in the evening when we could hear the apostle. I stood waiting for a family as I was taking care of their 4 month old son while they talked to the mission president.

I saw a car pull up in front of the chapel, but kept playing with the baby, someone I did not know entered the chapel and looked around and went out again, then when I ooked back at the entrance, I saw someone enter adjusting his coat, I kept looking at him, his face looked familiar I though, and then I realised I might be looking at Elder TOdd Christofferson.

he watched me gape at him and walked over and said." Hi, this is Elder Christofferson"

the other stranger turned out to be Elder Hallstorm of the seventy, they spoke to me about their trip, asked a few questions and played with the baby and left after I told them that the mission president will join them after the meeting.

I came back to my senses after they left....I ACTUALLY met the apostle, I was the first person to meet him at hyderabad....

I thought I would go fey with joy.

the conference was so good, it was one of the best days of my life..

will update details about the conference soon.
