Butterflies

Butterflies are

• Beautiful
• Fragile
• Harmless

In Mexico, Monarch butterflies are preparing to migrate to Canada. In March of each year they gather together and whole mountainsides are covered with many millions, possibly billions, of the Monarch butterflies.

Not one of them has ever before made the journey across the entire USA.

Not one of them knows the way.

They just realize that they are not in the place they are supposed to be and they have an epic journey to make.

They navigate by the sun.

Church members are also Beautiful, Fragile and Harmless.

They also realize that they are not where they are supposed to be, and that they have an epic journey to make.

The places where they gather together are the Stakes and the Temples.

They don’t know the way either, but He is the Way.

They have to navigate by the Son.

The journey they are making is to their home, the celestial kingdom.

"Who are these that fly as a cloud, and as the doves to their windows?" (Isa. 60:8.)

The scriptures tell us that the Creation bears witness of the Creator and that in nature there are many types and shadows of our Saviour Jesus Christ and his Gospel.
