Prayer Walk and... Prayer Roll
Posted On 09/05/2008 14:52:50 by SimplifyHeartAndHome

I love to walk alone with my thoughts and with the Lord. I think of it as my 'prayer walk'. I am able to connect with nature and with God and with few distractions. It's starting to get cold so I don't know if I'll continue to walk outside all winter or not. But, I'm grateful for the summer times that I've had as they've helped me clear my head and simplify some of life's hectic times.

We also do a 'prayer roll' as a family. It started a few months back when we were asked to pray for a particular man in our area. I wrote his name on a list and put it on the fridge for all to see. I also added a friend who had been struggling and -- the Prophet who had asked us in conference to pray for him. Within a few days the list had grown to include a missionary niece, family members and friends and each of my children.

Our family 'prayer roll' is meaningful. As we kneel to pray we are easily reminded of those in need and those we love. It helps us appreciate and acknowledge the blessings that we have when we are aware of some of the struggles and challenges of others'. http://www.simplifyheartandhome.blogspot.com

I love the idea of a "family prayer roll".  It is a wonderful way to keep those who need our help foremost in our thoughts.  Great idea!

Have faith....it works with changing the weather. Look at the weather here in San Diego. LOL

Awesome! I will add 'family prayer roll' principle to our family dinner time round table meeting tonight.
