It has been a while since I wrote a blog. I do so now to present how I view myself to the world. I have been accused of being overly sarcastic in my posts. While I will agree that I do engage in sarcasm from time to time, a better description of my personality would be facetious.
fa·ce·tious /fəˈsi
ʃəs/fuh-see-shuh
s]
1. not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark. 2. amusing; humorous. 3. lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious person.
That definition more closely describes how I percieve myself. I realize I have as my signature: Checkerboy=Sarcastic. I perhaps should change that so as not to give the appearance that I want to ridicule people. I have the uttmost respect for just about everyone I have met here at LDS.net. If I have offended anyone in anyway then I apologize. I am a straight talker and don't put up with Political Correctness. I will call it like I see it. If that upsets you then please don't read my posts. That is something I won't apologize for.
There are certain people that I know I can be sarcastic with and they won't be offended, perhaps I have become too loose in applying that behavior to others. In all my attempts at communication, for the most part, none have been to deride or belittle others. In the cases where I have, generally, I have done so in a spirit of self-defense. I, along with many others, need to learn how to not get offended so easily.
So class, to summerize:
1. Checkerboy now=facetious
2. Checkerboy hates PC (not that PC, I love Prison Chaplain)
3. Checkerboy needs to learn who and who he cannot be sarcastic with.
4. Checkerboy needs to not let more things slide off his back, like water on a duck.
