Happy Thanksgiving!
Posted On 11/29/2008 23:09:29 by Abby_C
I just felt like I should express my gratitude this Thanksgiving season for all the many blessings that I have.  I am lucky enough to have a fantastic family--both my parents are wonderful examples to me, as is my older sister and two younger brothers.  My older sister has been especially influential in my life as we go to college at the same school.  She has been applying to medical schools and I am always blown away by her energy and excitement about her field.  She is so dedicated and she makes opportunities for herself wherever she can, and sometimes in places I would never even think to look.  My little brothers have been holding up the fort at home and as they grow up, I can't help but be impressed by the young men they're becoming.  My Mom and Dad have taught me the importance of hard work and education and have always been there to love and support me.
I am also grateful for my opportunities.  I have been blessed to have grown up having piano lessons and clarinet lessons, being able to participate in sports, in clubs, and in church.  I love my church--the gospel is as true today as it was when Christ lived.  And I am grateful for the Atonement of the Savior, through which I can be purified and someday return to my Father in Heaven.  And I am grateful that His Atonement has made it so that I am never alone.  The Lord knows how to succor His people, me included.  I love the gospel and am grateful to be a member of the restored church of Christ here on the earth today.  I've been counting my blessings all week and I am just blown away by how lucky I am.  I hope I never forget all that I've been given.
