My name is Mark Cardon, and my wife is Coral Cardon - and we are new to this network, but thought we would share a little musical contribution to celebrate Christmas.

     Our Christmas Song's purpose is two fold - to emphasize the "true" meaning and celebration of Christmas, and secondly, to possibly generate some passive income during a financially trying time in our life.  We are hopeful that this will be a song that all may enjoy and be edified and uplifted by its message of love and adoration for our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

     We had contemplated writing a song last year prior to seeing family members during the holidays, but procrastinated and were late in our efforts to complete a song.

     This past year has been a very difficult one for us both - but, it has not deterred our belief that we needed to complete our song and hopefully broadcast some heartfelt love and gratitude to our Heavenly Father for his Son Jesus Christ. 

     Coral is a wonderful singer/lyricist and is also a breast cancer survivor and is currently cancer free.   I am a guitarist/singer and have played over the past 35 years as a solo guitarist and in various bands while attending BYU and The University of Utah. 

     This past year has been a tough one.  Coral has had to endure 4 major surgeries (double mastectomy,reconstruction,reconstruction repair, hysterectomy) and to top that off she was laid off from her job in June of 2007.  Fortunately, during her unemployment, I was gainfully employed and we have been able to keep our household afloat.  Unfortunately, I was laid off December 1st and we are in an extremely difficult situation financially as I write this blog.

     We've always felt that we needed to share our God given talents to those around us - and this seems to be our curtain call to let our light shine to the world.   Well, when I was laid off, the urgency and procrastination that has befuddled us suddenly washed away and we accomplished in a weeks time, what we had delayed for almost a year.  Of course, it helped that I had lots of free time on my hands when I wasn't sending out resume's and looking for work in our little neck of the woods.

     The production/sound engineering/mixing is not of the highest caliber - please forgive, but it was all done in a matter of 2 to 3 days in our master bedroom.  

     Our goal is to possibly sell some downloads of the song and possibly keep the wolves at bay from our door - if even through the end of the year.  We created a Myspace Music site under the name Freedom's Phoenix   www.myspace.com/freedomsphoenix777 - through which you can at least listen and hopefully enjoy.  There is also a mp3 download store that you may purchase a copy for $.99.
