house dedication
Posted On 12/19/2008 19:33:08 by kgraff1983
My husband and I just bought a new house. Our first house together it is just so wonderful. lol not the house but the time with my husband. Our house needs work well it is a fixer upper as he would say.
But any who I am getting off the subject. My husband told me about "house dedication". I had no clue what he was talking about. He let me know that it is just a prayer that keeps bad spirits out and the love in.
I let him know that that sounded just great. I never knew that the LDS church did that sort of stuff. Man do I have a lot to learn =).
Well I called the missionaries to ask if they would do that for us. They of course said yes. They came over and taught me a lesson and afterword they took out a small white book to make sure they were doing it right. Then we all went to our knees and they started to pray. It was just wonderful to know that now our house is protected in some way. It just keeps getting better and better. I have almost a full year before my husband and I can become sealed. It is sad but I understand why they want you to wait a year. I believe it is because you can take that time to try and learn as much as you can about the gospel and the church. That way you wont be so stunned or surprised with what you see in there.
But of course that is just a guess I have not gone to the temple Yet =)
Key word "YET"
I feel so great about this church and the gospel I know it is to be true.
I asked god and he answered me with a wonderful warm feeling.
