Are Mormons Christians?

Focus on Family pulls Glenn Beck article

This is an article I received in my email from an email list I am a part of.  It's about Focus on the Family group pulling an article off their website about Glenn Beck and how they didn't know that he was Mormon and that Mormons are not Christians.

It really irritates me that we as members of the Mormon church get slammed or gets ridiculed in saying that we are not christians.  Well, here's my stand to the whole wide world:

I testify to you in the name of Jesus Christ that Mormons are Christians!!!!!  The word or name Mormon is just a nickname we are given because of the Book of Mormon.  The church's real name is:

THE CHURCH OF
 JESUS CHRIST
OF LATTER-DAY SAINTS

The church has the name of the savior, Jesus Christ, who is the very literal son of God.  He is the redeemer of all man-kind.  He is at the head of this church. He leads His church through prophets and apostles as He did in biblical times.

We teach out of the King James Version of the Holy Bible.  We also believe that He has more to offer us through other texts such as the Book of Mormon.  We read in John 21:25 that there are so many things that Jesus has done that the world could not contain all the writings.  Because He is the Lord Omnipotent, He is in control and He knows what He wants done.

I testify of these things in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Members of the Church of Jesus Christ (LDS) are Christians.  However, we are New Testament Christians, not 4th Century (Creedal) Christians.  Wouldn't a major denomination whose teachings are closer to the Saviors be considered authentic Christians?

The term Mormons has no association with Christ, for an outsider, for people who look for the Gospel of Jesus Christ and his church, the terms Saints or Christians is associated with Jesus Christ .The term Mormons was used by our persecuters and is still used in bad terms by our persecuters, but we are followers of Christ and should call ourselves Saints or Christians as the holy scriptures Book of Mormon and Bibel tells us( See the following scriptures). We should not call ourselves Mormons, even as the church shouldn't be called the Mormon church .
Our Persecuters love the term Mormons so if they persecute us, they don't persecute Christians that's how its percieved in the media. If we are persecuted it should be for the name of Jesus Christ, which church it is . If we want the people worldwide to understand that we are the restored Church of Jesus Christ, as we are, we must stop using the old terms Mormons and Mormonism inside and outside the church .
The term Mormonism shouldn't be accepted either, because we believe in the teachings of our savior Jesus Christ which church it is and which name it bears.. Joseph Smith used the term only as reflective speaking when talking to the ones who were opposed to the church or even persecuting the church who were attending church .
So it is not an official term and also makes no sense , we are not Mormons its not the Mormon Church we don't preach Mormonism or Culture we preach and teach of Christ and his gospel etc. and everyone should know by the terms and words we use for ourselves , that we are followers of Christ and that should reflect in every sense of the word.

Acts 11: 26
26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
1 Pet. 4: 16
16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf.
Alma 46
15 And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come.
Alma 46: 13, 15-16
13 And he fastened on his head-plate, and his abreastplate, and his shields, and girded on his armor about his loins; and he took the pole, which had on the end thereof his rent coat, (and he called it the btitle of liberty) and he cbowed himself to the earth, and he prayed mightily unto his God for the blessings of liberty to rest upon his brethren, so long as there should a band of Christians remain to possess the land— • • •
15 And those who did belong to the church were faithful; yea, all those who were true believers in Christ took upon them, gladly, the name of Christ, or Christians as they were called, because of their belief in Christ who should come. 16 And therefore, at this time, Moroni prayed that the cause of the Christians, and the freedom of the land might be favored.
D&C 59: 5
5 Wherefore, I give unto them a commandment, saying thus: Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy bheart, with all thy might, mind, and strength; and in the name of Jesus Christ thou shalt serve him.

3 Nephi 27:2-10
2 And Jesus again showed himself unto them, for they were praying unto the Father in his name; and Jesus came and stood in the midst of them, and said unto them: What will ye that I shall give unto you?
3 And they said unto him: Lord, we will that thou wouldst tell us the name whereby we shall call this church; for there are disputations among the people concerning this matter.
5 Have they not read the scriptures, which say ye must take upon you the name of Christ, which is my name? For by this name shall ye be called at the last day; 6 And whoso taketh upon him my name, and endureth to the end, the same shall be saved at the last day.
7 Therefore, whatsoever ye shall do, ye shall do it in my name; therefore ye shall call the church in my name; and ye shall call upon the Father in my name that he will bless the church for my sake. 8 And how be it my church save it be called in my name? For if a church be called in Moses' name then it be Moses' church; or if it be called in the name of a man then it be the church of a man; but if it be called in my name then it is my church, if it so be that they are built upon my gospel. 9 Verily I say unto you, that ye are built upon my gospel; therefore ye shall call whatsoever things ye do call, in my name; therefore if ye call upon the Father, for the church, if it be in my name the Father will hear you;

I know the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints it is the restored church of Jesus Christ and he is our Savior and the head of the church.
And if we take the name of Jesus Christ upon us, as written in the scriptures and talk of him and preach and rejoice the Lord will bless us. And the people who don't know where to find the truth will find the truth if we use the name of Jesus Christ and the proper name of his church to proclaim the gospel and take his name upon us as true Saints or Christians and follow his example.
