Endure to the End
Posted On 02/08/2009 21:47:48 by samanthahiatt

This weekend I have been thinking about all that I have to do in the coming few weeks.  Mid-terms are coming up in almost every class, I have to babysit my nephew for three days straight this weekend, and my nursing application is in the process of being filled out.  I woke up this morning and felt very overwhelmed about it.  So, I turned to the scriptures for peace.

Since I am in a New Testament class, I have been thinking a lot about the gospel doctrine in that book of scripture.  I though about what kind of sciptures I should look up that could help me out here, and I decided to look under the topic, endure.  Matthew 24:13 says, "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."  Endure to the end.  That is all we have to do.  Trials and tribulations may come upon us, but if we faithfully endure and continue in the ways of truth and righteousness, we need not fear; Heavenly Father is on our side.

With endurance comes happiness.  James 5:11 reads, "Behold, we count them happy which endure.  Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy."  Job endured so much hardship, but he continued onward.  I believe that if I continually keep myself engaged in the service of God, always abiding in good works and thinking of others before myself, that everything will work out for my good.  I need to continue to prioritize and do what needs to be done, when it needs to be done.  I am so grateful for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because of the sound doctrines and teachings that it gives us, to use as a foundation in our lives.
