My boyfriend thinks that I am overly feminist.  I hope not.  I enjoy being capable and allowed to do just about anything that I want to do in today's society.  I am grateful that I was born into such a time.   And I love the place of honor and equality that women hold within the church within the church.   This is a topic that comes up in Dr. Holzapfel's classes often.  I think it is very interesting that LDS women enjoyed so much freedom and such a respected place even in the early part of the church. 

I think it is wonderful that in the most important realms of the gospel, the Priesthood and the Temple women are completely equal to men.  Emma Smith received her own revelation just like male leaders of the church like Oliver Cowdry.  And when the church was fully restored women received every blessing that mean did.  I thought it was wonderful how Dr. H talked abou tit and how it is important to treat women with respect.  Of course we should, as women, treat the men in our lives with equal care and respect.  I just love that there is so much love and equaity to be had.

I have a friend and we serve on the activities committe together, and he told me that he wishes more girls would not only expect, but let guys open the door for them.  At the very next activity we were working on another girl who is with us had an armful Of jugs she was carrying out to the tables, he went to open  the door for her, and she was like. "No don't bother I got it."  I don't think it's that we arn't capable, because we certaintly are, But as wommen for the most part we have a motherly instinct, Well for guys it is an instinct to provide, and care for.  The instinct to protect.  Not only that but my own personal feeling is, If the world were full of more men who opened more doors, and wommen who allowed them too,  there would be alot more gentlemen., and alot more happy wommen.  Being independant is a great thing, it is a blesing that we have that freedom.  But we also need to be albe to let the guys feel like men...I don't know if any of this made sense considering it is 3 in th am and I should be sleeping, but I hoped that helped a little

Hmm that's kind of like saying to a man, " You're overly manly. Would you stop trying to do what you think you are capable of?" hahaha.
