My Father
Posted On 11/04/2009 23:24:34 by Angelagiftedgirl
As I come to the end of this day, I remember my father with gladness. In the 1980s he was an outstanding bishop of our ward in Houston TX. Being the quiet soul that I am, I admired the way that he always knew the words to inspire members of our church. He loved our Lord Jesus Christ. He encouraged visitors to the church. He welcomed everyone in our ward. While he was the bishop, he was responsible for a great many baptisms of entire families. He not only brought souls to the church, he valued those souls. And they loved and valued Jesus Christ. And they knew, through my father's example, that to be in service to others is to be in the service of our Lord.

There is nothing a father could ask more of in life than to know his children admired and respected him.  That they recognized the work he had done and most importantly, they knew his testimoney!
