preparations...

Hello,

as a counselor in Relief Society in my ward, I'm preparing something for the party of the 168th Birthday of this organisation. We are going to have something historical, something spiritual and then something funny and yummy. For the decoration, one part is that we are going to have many little or bigger presents all around in the room since it is a birthday ;) And I did quite a job in wrapping all these things...

but it also made me think. :)  In my opinion Relief Society is a marvelous thing and the sisters can do so much to help their families, their friends, strangers and also the ward or stake. Not only with what they do, or which counsel they give, but with forming an atmosphere of love. Recently, we had a great lesson in Relief Society where 2 young sisters taught together. This co-teaching experience struck me and the Spirit was overwhelmingly there and I have no doubt that every one in this room felt it, too. We all talked about it afterwards, and it was very uplifting. And to me it also is a testimony, that it doesn't matter how old one is, but how prepared one is and the Spirit makes difference, not the age. Part of our time at the party, we'll talk of things that the Relief Society brought to our lives, and then we want to collect ideas, what we can give back to it (as a present) :) I think it will be a great time.

And I'm grateful for my experience in this calling. I've had doubts, if I really have what is needed to serve in the Relief Society leadership but I received a testimony that the Lord wants me to be there and do this. Still, sometimes I wonder... what I can do or why it is me to have this calling... but then again, someone has to do it ;)
