Getting Married in the Spirit World
Posted On 09/27/2010 18:31:29 by Gargantuan

This isn't a concept I have looked forward to facing in life, but because of unchanging health issues, I have had to accept it as a real possibility. I realize that for some, the following may be difficult to understand. If it is, please study more concerning the concept and pray about it as I have done. Nevertheless, this is only meant to be my opinion. Gar

Getting Married in the Spirit World

A good friend of mine told me that he thought I'd get married in the Spirit World.  At first, I scoffed at the idea.  I thought that I would always get married in this life and then be forever happy.  There are some people who haven't really had a chance to marry in this life and for them this may be true. I'm glad that only God will be the judge on this sensitive matter.

I wondered about his idea at first, but after I did more thinking, I thought that there must be a way to righteously socialize in the Spirit World. I don't think that God wants us to be unhappy in that sphere.   Just as on earth, with civil marriages, there could be the kind of marriage performed there that is valid only for that world.

I think if that reasoning is correct then later during the Millennium, according to God's holy mind and will, those marriages could become solemnized through temple work. There are Baptisms for the Dead performed in the Temples on earth. There are also proxy marriages performed in those Temples on earth. This work will continue during the Millennium.

For those who can't or don't for some reason find an eternal companion in this life, there [hopefully]must be a way to continue looking for a companion in the Spirit World. There may even be a way to get married in the Spirit World, and at some later date have that marriage solemnized in a holy temple during the Millennium. There is no doubt in my mind that God has provided a way for all his children to be happy.
