Mom is Leaving

My dear mother is finally going to live in a nursing home. I have cared for her the last 15 years of her life and now the time has come when she needs more caring than what I can give to her. It simply breaks my heart to admit that I cannot carry her cross any longer and that she must live in a different environment to continue her life.

She has told me over and over that she wants to die. Her cries to die were very strong one evening that I almost prayed she could die. I know her righteous ancestors are aware of her suffering. Before I could silently pray for her to die and be relieved of her afflictions, I saw the face of her long ago departed grandfather above her head. He was looking at her. I knew he loved her and was concerned about her. We both felt peace after I saw his face. I don’t know why I saw his face before I could pray. I do know that Mom’s family is close to her.

Mom at 40 years, Now 85 years old.

I want with all my heart for her to be happy and cared for in a way that she will live as long as God wants her to live on this earth. I hope that I have been able to serve and honor her as God has wanted me to do. She has been a blessing to all who have known her.
