ERTH, Australia 4 June 2008 Members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints collected grocery items recently for the St Vincent de Paul Societyto distribute to families going through hard times. The effort was tied to this year’s Australian National Families Week in May.

“Despite the economic boom, there are many families in need,” Genevieve de Souza, Western Australian president of the St Vincent de Paul Society said at the hand-over ceremony. “Charitable organizations have to turn needy people away for the lack of food donations.”
