English and a little bit of spanish.

I love Nicholas Sparks books. I also like classics like Little Women, and books with a message like Anthem.

I listen to a lot of different types of music. I'm really not that picky, I'm not really into rap though. Rock, country, R&B, pop, alternative, techno, it's all good.

Chick flicks: The Notebook, A Walk To Remember, Sweet Home Alabama, Just Like Heaven, Tuck Everlasting, all those good movies, and The Guardian. I'm a sucker for a happy ending.

I love art. I'm really into painting right now and developing my own style and seeing what really works for me, but I still like sketching and developing and tuning my overall skill.

I'm 16, and a Senior in high school. I love talking to people and making friends. I'm pretty easy to get along with (I think so anyways), and I'm generally pretty laid back. I love to make people laugh, and I'm very empathetic.

Feel free to message me.

Hi emkate,
I was wondering if you could take a moment and watch this video of Elder Holland talking about God's Words Never Cease. Be sure to add a rating and comment. Thank you so much!

Lol maybe. Well I dunno, I can hit all the notes and the drifts and all that stuff, but I don't consider what I have to be a blowaway voice. That's what it sounds like your friend Lindsey has. Does she have like anything on Youtube or something like that? You kind of made me interested to hear lol. But yeah, even if I do, I'd probably just keep my stuff to myself. I used to be in a band, and I sung back-up for like three songs, and those got out on a Myspace. Even though some of my friends said they actually thought my voice was pretty good, it was so weird just hearing it on a recording. So yeah. It's strange, but that's me. :P

Now if I had a blowaway voice, I'd be recording stuff like crazy and sending it everywhere. I don't know, I'm too much of a perfectionist I guess. I'm sure it's the same way with your paintings? Like say for running, I don't consider myself good until I'm matching a world standard, like these NCAA guys who run 4-minute miles like it's for breakfast. Or in skating, these guys who can skate a marathon in less than an hour. Just more of my strange way of thinking. :P

Yeah, that's a good one to have as favorite, Jason Mraz is the man. I've been a fan of his for a long time, and I actually have this pre-recording he made that I had on my iPod about two months before the 'I'm Yours' that you hear on the radio now came out. So I've been listening to that for a long time. :P I can sing it well right now, I'm just more of a perfectionist, so I'd have to be amazing before I sang it in public.

Sports are pretty big around here too, can't compare based on the fact that I haven't seen where you're coming from, just not so much my ward. My school's football team is actually dominant, like we go to state pretty much every year and win it about every third time or so. Same with track, and swimming, and girl's soccer, and hopefully soon to be hockey. Then we're awful at everything we don't go to state in. :P That stinks for your hockey guys. We have our own hockey arena in town, about five more within a 20 min. drive. Then there are maybe 18 more outdoor rinks within the same area.

I'm borderline on music. I'm in choir, used to be in a band (like, a garage band), and still make techno's and stuff for the heck of it, but I'm no David Archuleta. I might sing Jason Mraz next year for EFY, that's sort of where my voice falls, but yeah, I'm borderline. Any solo singers like that you like to sing to or anything like that?

Yeah, glad to hear someone knows how it is. You kind of expect it though, like it's a going away party because she's going to college, so it was only a matter of time. And yeah, cliff jumping is awesome. We've got some spots where it gets to like 30 some feet, so it's crazy fun. We need more sports fanatics like you have, ours are basically all music nuts. Not that it's bad or anything, it'd just be nice to see some variety I think. Our seminary is actually kind of a hit here, too. Like, we had too split up into two classes we had so many people showing up regularly.

Hockey's not big there, is it? What are pretty much the biggest sports around you?

Haha that would be a good use of time. :P

Yeah, sports start for us ridiculously early. Soccer will be over three weeks in before the school year gets here, and I have my first captains practice for hockey tomorrow already. Lol yeah, and I know what you mean about rivals. Unfortunately there aren't many sports nuts in my ward, which covers a pretty big area, so I really only have one church friend who I play against and that's in hockey. There was a girl who used to be in track with me but she moved to Florida.

And yeah, as long as you get the assignment done it's all good. I like those things that make me stay up late, it helps me sleep so much better the night after for some reason. I'm going cliff-jumping on Saturday too, so that's sort of a beach thing too. (it's a going away party for a girl in my stake) Lucky you though, I wish we had a dance too lol. :[

Oh lol, well actually our soccer season starts before the school year does. That's been crazy though, our coach wants us to win state really badly so one and a half weeks in I'm pretty dead lol. I made Varsity though, so I've been enjoying all the gigs that come with that lol. (the Varsity teams in every sport get spoiled here) School actually starts for us on the second of next month.

So, what's new con tu?

Not really lol. Well, I'm taking Creative Writing 2 which is kind of slacker class. We also have one called Media Literacy where basically you're on Youtube half the time. I'm taking photography too, kind of anxious to get into that. I take very few pictures, but the ones I take of landscapes and stuff my friends say look like they're by a professional. And I'm taking choir again, since music will look good on a college application and I wouldn't mind having an even better singing voice lol. I'm planning on singing Jason Mraz for the variety show at EFY next year, but only if I think I can pull it off well. :P

So...I take that back. There are some that I'm looking forward to this year. Life is going to get busy starting tomorrow though. School soccer starts, and the first week is a painful one. :[

Haha yeah, I'm still scrambling to finish my summer assignments. We'll see how that goes. lol My phone was acting all screwy a few weeks ago so my dad ordered me a new one, I hated having to try and copy all of my contacts though.

The only class I'm really excited about is my AP art class. I can't wait to get back in the art room and just start painting, I've been working at home some, but for some reason it just doens't feel the same. Other than that I only have AP english, AP environmental science, and calculus cm. I don't think I'm gonna have much free time this year, but it should be interesting how things pan out with my school load...lol

What about you? Any classes you're looking forward to?

Two weeks? Yikes! That's lucky that your first week is easy though, they give the freshman their own day so that the whole school can pick up right away. I'm the same way about being excited to go back and see friends though, my cell phone got busted so it's been hard to keep to keep in touch with a lot of them lately. Any really cool classes you're taking?

Oh harsh, didn't know you had homework over the summer. That must stink, I would kill if I had that happen where I am. I s'pose you must be used to it though, like you know it's coming. Yeah that's about the only reason I look forward to school though, is that you're spending your entire day in your friends' company. Like, you don't have to check if everyone is open or anything.

We've still got about a month. How long are you out until school starts?
